Mediterranean Fan Palm

The Mediterranean Fan Palm is one of the most successful palms for general use in landscaping under a wide range of conditions. Its broad spread, multiple trunks, and dark green foliage make it an excellent choice as an accent tree. If you are into silver plants, ask about our silver cultivar.
One of the most cold hardy of all palms, the Med Fan can tolerate temperatures as low as 0 degrees F.
Med Fans also do well in hot, dry desert regions. Native to southern Europe along the Mediterranean Sea, this palm is typically found in poor rocky soils. It is adaptable to a wide range of soils, provided they are well drained.
Also known as European Fan Palm, this is a relatively slow growing palm. Med Fan grow at a rate of six inches per year and will reach a height and canopy spread of about twenty feet.
Mediterranean Fan Palms retain excellent appearance in light shade but do best in full sun.
